Sunday In Pictures Vol. 25 – Easter 2018

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and Easter. I didn’t mean to disappear for the weekend but Alex and I were a little busy… We got our puppy Bailey! She is a 14 week old black lab and the sweetest little pup around. This weekend was fun and a lot of learning for us. So with getting a new pup and figuring her out plus Easter blogging took a bit of a back seat. I’m back to normal posts this week though. Have a great day 🙂

The Easter bunny stopped by our apartment and brought my favorite jelly beans.

When you’re on puppy duty but haven’t had breakfast, a mandarin orange makes the perfect snack.

Homemade cinnamon rolls for Easter breakfast. I used this recipe I found on Pinterest.

A morning walk near woods then ended with lots of ticks on her since we think she walked through a nest. Thank goodness the grocery store was open for an emergency stop.

Mac & Cheese

Mac and cheese for a quick lunch.

I was in charge of a chocolate dessert so I made a no bake chocolate cheesecake and topped it with homemade whipped cream.

The place settings at dinner were so nicely done. Can you tell which seat was for the kids by the chocolate bunnies? I definitely missed a picture of my dinner but I had spinach salad, ham, pineapple, scalloped potatoes, rolls, and green beans.

This was the first dessert plate – the cheesecake and a lemon tart from Trader Joe’s. I definitely went back for a piece of cake someone brought. My favorite dessert was the cheesecake though. It reminded me of the chocolate mousse one from Cheesecake Factory!

I’m so in love with my little fam ❤

Question of the day: What was the highlight of your weekend?

  2. hmmm cinnamon rolls sound good. they take so long to make and I always want them first thing in the morning, but Easter would have been perfect since breakfast is always a bit later on holiday mornings.

Bailey is too cute! you need to get on a flea and tick prevention they are often hard to see on the black fur, and that is the last thing you want brought into the house. Have fun with your new fur-baby

    1. This recipe didn’t take long at all to make! I was able to make the the night before and stick them in the fridge which was awesome.

We were going to get flea and tick stuff for her this week but Alex’s brother was going for the walk with his dogs and invited us along. We felt like a neutral spot was good for them to meet and didn’t think about the potential for ticks until later. Luckily we spotted them and did an extremely thorough check of her (and us!) after spotting the first one. Hope you have a great day 🙂

  3. Oh my goodness, that is so exciting!! Bailey is ADORABLE! That sucks about the ticks, hopefully they weren’t too much of a hassle to take care of? Can’t wait for more puppy posts!! ❤

    1. Thanks girl! I have to say I find her to be pretty adorable too 🙂 They were a bit of a pain since she started getting antsy towards the end of when we checked her. I’m just glad we found them and a store was open to get flea and tick prevention. I hope you had a nice weekend!

    1. She’s the best thing ever!! I’m in love! If Bailey looks like Shelbie now then I won’t complain how she’ll look when she grows up. But I do want her to stay little a lot longer 🙂

      1. Awwww I’m somewhat jealous, but just am not home enough to have a dog right now:( I’ll enjoy yours vicariously. You’ll have a new segment before long:)

      2. Yes when I was dog sitting last year- the most difficult part was making sure I was home every 3-4 hours to let the poor guy out:(
        Yup probably:)

      3. I totally get that! Luckily dogs naturally won’t go to the bathroom where they sleep so she can make it through a few hours in the morning until I get home for lunch and then later in the afternoon when I come home from work. Although she’s been alone like that once so maybe it was just luck lol.

    1. Thanks Allie!! It ended up being nice and sunny so the picture turned out even better than I thought it would. I think I’m going to print it out for a frame that I got for Christmas. It’s just been sitting on the table empty for months lol.
