Weekly Obsessions

Weekly Obsessions XVIII

Happy Friday friends! It’s Memorial Day weekend and I’m pretty excited. I took the day off of work and we’re road tripping to my parents in Chicago. We actually drove halfway last night and stayed in a pet friendly hotel since Bailey is with us. Another 6 hours today and then we’ll be in Chicago. Have a great weekend 🙂

The winner of the gift card is Ally! Thank you all so much for entering. I’ll send you an email to get your prize on the way.

Needlepoint Keychain

Alex’s mom loves to needlepoint so for Christmas she gave me a few patterns to pick from for a keychain. This is the one I went with and I love it! The colors are some of my favorites and I love this style keychain. It’s so easy to throw in my bag and I can always find my keys. Etsy has a bunch of different shops that offer needlepoint keychains if you’re interested.

Just Fruit Bars

I’ve mentioned these on the blog before but I stocked up when I was at Trader Joe’s on Sunday. There are a few flavors but the apple-strawberry is my favorite. Apple-mango is pretty good as well. There’s also an apple-coconut bar and apple-banana one. The ingredients are just apples and strawberries so it’s one of the cleanest bars in my opinion. I keep one in my desk at work as an emergency snack and I definitely packed a few for the drive.

The Great British Baking Show

I feel like I’m incredibly late to the game on this show but oh my goodness. So good and entertaining! Bailey and I watched a slightly embarrassing amount when Alex was out of town earlier this week. Netflix has the show starting with the season in 2014 so not every episode is on there. It’s just so good! Each week, the bakers have 3 challenges – a signature challenge where they get something like bread and then they can flavor it how they want, a technical challenge where the judges give them a short and vague recipe to recreate, and then the showstopper challenge where they have guidance but still freedom to use whatever flavors they would like. Just go watch it because I think you’ll enjoy it.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen

This product is one I have used for years thanks to my mom. I have no idea why she decided to pick it up but I’m so glad she did. With the sun and warm weather we’ve been having, I had to break out my bottle for runs. The main reason I love this specific sunscreen is because it doesn’t leave the greasy feeling like some sunscreen can. I put it on my face and arms before runs and I don’t feel it sitting on my skin plus it rubs in incredibly easily. This stuff is a staple in my bathroom.

Question of the day: What’s one thing you’ve been obsessed with this week?

  1. Have a wonderful time in Chicago!!! I enjoy using that sunscreen too but in a higher SPF! Us redheads need the heavy duty stuff 😉 I have been obsessed with Meghan Markle- not gonna lie! Still on a royal wedding high!

  2. have a great trip and enjoy your time with family. that fruit bar sounds perfect, what is the texture of it?

    1. Maybe I’ll try that sunscreen next! Yes it is! My parents live in Chicago where I grew up so we don’t see them a ton. So far so good with the family and Bailey. Have a wonderful weekend 🙂

  3. I have to try that sunscreen!! I hate the greasy feel of sunscreen, but I know it’s important to wear, so it’s just a struggle. I currently have one from Mary Kay that was like $14 and a total waste of money because it just sits on my skin, is the greasiest formula, and when I sweat, it turns all white and gross. I will be checking this one out! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  4. I’ve been loving my Swell water bottle as it’s been hot here but my water is still cold at the end of the day!
The keychain is awesome and enjoy your time in Chicago!
