Dog, Sunday In Pictures, Weekend

Sunday In Pictures Vol. 33

Happy Monday! It’s a tad dreary this morning but I have my fingers crossed the sun will peak through later in the day. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Saturday was filled with some shopping and ended with an amazing movie. Sunday had some relaxing in it and ended with dinner with a friend who is moving. Overall it was a good weekend.

In typical Monday fashion around here, I’m sharing my Sunday through pictures. Have a great day 🙂

Sunday started off with some pancakes and bacon for breakfast.

I baked another batch of oatmeal muffins (I tweak this recipe) while listening to the Mamma Mia! soundtrack.

While the muffins cooled, I finished The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett. It would be a good pool read I think since it’s not intense and a cute story.

For lunch, I made a quesadilla with leftover beans and chicken plus some carrots and hummus.

My next book is called The Identicals by Elin Hilderbrand. It’s about identical twins who live on Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard but don’t speak even though they live so close. I think it’ll be a good summer read!

Bailey and I went on our longest walk to date. She wants everyone to know that tow trucks are a little scary but if you sit down to watch them back up while it beeps, then they aren’t as scary 😉

I made a batch of peanut butter chickpea blondies from Joy Food Sunshine. They smelled SO good while they baked.

We watched part of The King’ Speech.

Then Alex and I headed to Somerville, New Jersey to meet my friend Greg who is moving at the end of the month. We grabbed dinner at an Irish pub (everything was oddly closed along Main St.) but my corned beef sandwich hit the spot!

Question of the day: What was a highlight from your weekend?

  1. from my experiences I find that dog do not like noises that they are not adjusted to hearing on a regular basis. I guess it’s just a dog thing?
Identicals is great book, I hope you enjoy it.
Onto Monday…. hope it is the start of a great week for you

    1. I think that makes sense because she always seems interested in new noises when she hears them or if it’s something she doesn’t hear regularly. It was just funny because I could tell she was scared but decided to just sit and watch haha.
I’m glad to hear it’s good! I hope your Monday is a good one 🙂

  2. Haha! Tow trucks are kind of scary!
That looks like another great read- you find such good books!

  3. I really want to try those peanut butter chickpea blondies!! I love making healthy treats like that (I used to do black bean brownies all the time!)

  4. Copley hates sirens and will stop or bark at them anytime she hears one! Dogs are so funny. The highlight of my weekend was going to the French Open!

    1. Big trucks can be scary for Bailey but I was laughing that she decided to sit down instead of trying to run away. Staying in the “scary” situation seemed like a better option apparently haha. The French Open sounds amazing! I loved the recap 🙂

  5. Sounds like a great day with lots of good food! I’m on the lookout for some summer reading so Ill have to check out those books!

  6. Aw sweet Bailey, I can see how that would be scary!

I’ve been listening to Mamma Mia’s music too! Can’t wait for the second movie to come out! I’ll need to check out those chickpea brownies. Looks like a gooey giant chocolate chip cookie!!! Also, I have to admit I like to have mexican food, such as nachos or a salad with hummus on the side 🙂

    1. I’m so curious how the second movie will be! Some of the songs can probably overlap but I don’t want it to be the exact same soundtrack. Hopefully the soundtrack will come out soon! Girl I love Mexican food! Can I have that at my wedding when the time comes or what haha because I mean who doesn’t love Mexican?

  7. You are so darn gorgeous! That picture of you with Bailey is too cute. And that peanut butter chickpea blondie is making my mouth water. YUM. I don’t eat meat, but that corned beef sandwich looks sooo good… if I was going to eat meat again I think that would be up there, that and a reuben. XO

  8. Always love these posts! You baking with music on in the background has me wondering why I don’t do that! Sometimes I listen to podcasts or watch Youtube videos, but then I end up messing stuff up because I focus too much on the podcast or video. Like duh, music is perfect, then I won’t mess up the recipe!

Love the photo of you and Bailey! She’s growing up fast! I am going to check out The Hundred Lies book. The Identicals is on my to-read list right now!

    1. I can’t watch a YouTube video while I bake. It is too distracting! But music lets me sing along while also zoning out. Does that make sense?

Thanks! I was just happy she still long enough for me to take the picture. The energy level was high during our walk then. So far I’m enjoying The Identicals!
