Couples Who Run Together

Hi friends! How was your Monday? I hope it wasn’t too bad for you. I have to say my Monday was pretty good as you’ll see below. Have a great day 🙂

Bailey acted as our alarm clock yesterday morning by letting us know she needed to go out asap at 5 am. Alex took her out while I laid in bed before getting some puppy kisses and getting up. One I was all ready for work, I quickly scrambled up some eggs for breakfast and paired it with an oatmeal muffin.

The work day felt like it flew by and before I knew it, I was eating lunch. I finished up The Flight Attendant. It’s the story of Cassie, a flight attendant who wakes up next to a passenger in Dubai that has been murdered. Cassie was drinking the night before and partially blacks out. She has never been violent and thinks she didn’t kill the man but with her memory not all there she can’t fully remember. It was a good and quick thriller which I haven’t read in a while.

In the afternoon, I texted Alex to see if he was running later. He said he wasn’t sure so I asked if he would want to run with me on my recovery run. He said yes!! I was pumped! When I got home, we both changed and headed out the door for 4 miles. It was nice to be able to chat with someone on a run instead of just be stuck in my own head with my thoughts. I vote Alex should run with me on recovery days from now on, even if it’s just for a few miles instead of the whole thing.

Pasta with Italian Sausage

Dinner was really fancy last night. The name of the game for meals this week is “Use up anything that will go bad while we are out of town” so I had leftover spaghetti and sausage. I topped it with some fresh basil, marinara sauce and cheese. It was delicious and hit the spot. It ended up not being a ton of food so I had a banana with peanut butter as well.

Alex and I watched and episode of Billions and then I read for the rest of the night. I started Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. I’m not too far into it but it’s told from the present day perspective through Avery as well as in the 1930s through Rill. Once I read more I’ll have a better understanding of it. I think Avery and Rill’s story are somehow connected but I can’t be sure. Once I fell asleep on the couch, I figured I should head to bed.

Question of the day: Do you ever workout with your significant other?

  1. My wife and I have tried to work out or run together. I don’t think it’s meant to be. Our approaches are too different. We eat together really well though. 🙂

  2. Hey I’ve nominated you for mystery blogger award. Do check it out. Also thrillers are one of my favourite genre of novels. I guess I’ll check this one out.

  3. That’s so sweet that he ran with you!! Shay sometimes workouts with me and it’s definitely nice to have company! That book looks really good! I’ve got a couple of your reads on hold at my library. They appear to be quite popular!

    1. It really is nice to have company! Some of my recent reads have been really popular. I have been loving my Nook recently and when I saw the popular books were available I snatched them in the online library.

  4. Joshua and I workout all the time together and it’s the best thing! In fact, I can’t really remember the last time I worked out without him. We just like doing everything together, lol, and that includes exercise. It really is nice to have someone else there going through it with you! I’m glad you & Alex had a nice time together!!
