Sunday In Pictures Vol. 37

Hello friends! I’m back. After taking last week off to enjoy time at home with family and friends, it’s back to reality today. I’ll do a little recap of our trip tomorrow but today I want to get back into the swing of things with my usual Sunday in pictures. Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚

Breakfast was some fried eggs courtesy of Alex and an apple donut courtesy of the farmer’s market that I went to on Saturday.

“Mom, can I help you make the chocolate cake?”

For lunch, I had a ham sandwich, carrot, pretzels and hummus.

I read more of Losing You by Nicci French.

Mint Nail Polish

By some miracle, the nail polish I had on since my pedicure over Memorial Day weekend was still on. I updated it to this fun mint color though.

Alex’s parents were so sweet to have a little family party to celebrate my birthday that was July 3rd. We had a barbecue with spinach salad, coleslaw, green beans, ribs and chicken.

For dessert I made me own cake. It was chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. It was SO GOOD!! Rich but absolutely delicious.

Question of the day: What’s one highlight from your weekend?

  1. I’m glad to hear that you had a great holiday week! Checking out that book now — looks like a good one! Also, apple donuts are the very best! I always forget how much I like them until I get one at the apple orchard each year!

    1. I went to the market and they were literally right by the entrance so I had to get them right?! Not the same as when you get them at the orchard but the stand I got it from is also the orchard we go to so close enough right?

  3. Happy belated birthday! Your cake looked amazing! One highlight from my weekend was going to a fancy steakhouse called Flemingโ€™s for dinner and also we had a spontaneous movie date before that. Overall it was a great weekend and it sounds like yours was, too!

    1. Thank you! I like doing a more fun color on my toes to switch it to. I think mint/Tiffany blue is perfect for summer on your fingers too. Itโ€™s what I had two manicures ago and I was obsessed

    1. It was so good! I brought the leftovers into work yesterday and it was basically gone by 9:30 so I’d say it was a winner.

Post vacation tiredness is real today but gotta push through it! I hope you’re having a wonderful day ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Ok I am the worst with eating my “lunches” way too early. Especially with nursing and the early shifts, my 9/10 15 min break often would end up with my entire lunch consumed. Especially when the food was good- no will power to resist. And half way through the week- woohoo!

      2. Somedays I could honestly eat my lunch by 9:30 hahah. I had to start bringing a morning snack with me otherwise my stomach would be so loud!

        I hope you’re having a great week ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Belated birthday wishes! PB frosting sounds delicious – maybe you should give us some details on that, lol!

PS It’s been a month since I wrote you about my new puppy. The housebreaking is going extremely well. And last night was the first time he actually made it through the night without asking for a “pee” break. YAY!!! He is super good in his crate at night, just some good night whining initially. Now if the biting/chewing would only improve, lol!

    1. Thank you Tracy! Iโ€™ll definitely share next time I make that frosting ๐Ÿ™‚

YAY!! Iโ€™m so happy to hear that!! Weโ€™re struggling with the biting/chewing as well… last night I got back from my run to discover Bailey had destroyed the pillow thatโ€™s in her crate. I have no idea how she ripped it up so well haha
