Sunday In Pictures Vol. 32

Hi! How was your weekend? I have to say mine was pretty good. It was gross Saturday but the sun was out on Sunday and the humidity wasn’t that terrible. I have something fun planned at the end of this post so be sure to read it all. Have a great Monday šŸ™‚

I started off Sunday by reading in bed.

Bailey Pancake

For breakfast, Alex, Tory (Alex’s twin) and I had some pancakes. There was a little batter left so Bailey got a tiny puppy pancake.

Bailey With Her Tongue Out

When we dropped Tory off back at their parents house, we took Bailey to run around for a bit. She was in love with it.

Donation Bag

After we got home, I rounded up two huge bags of things to donate. I had gone through a few drawers and had things to get rid of. There was an even bigger bag full of stuff I had already loaded into my car.

Sandwich, Pretzels, Carrots

For lunch, I made a ham sandwich and munched on carrots, pretzels and hummus.

Bailey With Long Leash

We bought a 30 foot leash for Bailey and headed to the park to test it out.

Trader Joe's Basket

I ran to Trader Joe’s to pick up a few staples and grabbed a few new to me items.

Buffalo Cauliflower and Homemade Fries

For dinner, I made buffalo cauliflower (recipe will be up Wednesday) and homemade fries.

After dinner, I grabbed my Nook to finish the book. 5 star and would definitely recommend it.

Today’s post is going to end a little differently than normal. On Saturday, Maureen Gets Real turned 1! I started this blog on a whim at my old job because I was so bored that I needed something to do. Never would I have thought it would become what it is now. To celebrate, I’m going to do a little giveaway! The winner will win a giftcard to the store of their choice. On Friday, I’ll randomly select a winner and announce it in my post. All you have to do to answer is comment what your favorite post of mine has been. It can be something specific (ex: chocolate covered strawberry cupcakes) or a type of post that you like (weekly obsessions). Good luck šŸ™‚

Daily Happenings, Holiday, Sunday In Pictures, Weekend

Sunday In Pictures Vol. 31

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. If you’re a mother, I hope you got spoiled by your children. Even though it was a grey and rainy weekend, we made the most of it by spring cleaning on Saturday and some time outside yesterday. This week it looks like it might rain most of it but I’m actually okay with it. The rain is washing away all the pollen that’s been killing me – I didn’t even take an allergy pill yesterday! We’ll ignore the fact that I woke up at 1:13 am in order to take on though… Hopefully the sun will shine for you this week. Have a great day šŸ™‚

Alex slept much later than Bailey and I so while we played, IĀ  snacked on some strawberries.

Blueberry Waffle

For breakfast, we had waffles and bacon (not pictured).

I finally worked on my piping skills with the set Alex gave me for Valentine’s Day. Spoil alert – it was AMAZING. I kept commenting on how amazing and awesome it was lol.

Called my mom to chat a bit and to wish her a happy Mother’s Day. This was from exactly a year ago today at my graduation from Rutgers. Time flies you guys…

I made a tortilla pizza and paired it with a big salad for lunch.

We attempted some obedience training outside… It’s a work in progress but she’s got it in the apartment.

I made a key lime pie (from a mix )with whipped cream for dessert. The piping needs a little work but not too bad for a second try!

We went to Alex’s parents house for dinner. Steak, roasted potatoes and some asparagus for dinner before dessert and his mom opened gifts.

Question of the day: What’s one highlight from your weekend?

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Saturday was pretty busy for us but then Sunday was much more low key. Have a great day šŸ™‚

Started off our Sunday with bagels and bacon for breakfast.

Alex and I ran a few errands. I grabbed a new pair of sandals from DSW.

We grabbed Hoagie Haven for lunch. Not at all healthy but tasty for sure!

After a short nap to get rid of a headache, I went through my workout shirts. I had just a few…

We took Bailey to the tennis courts to run around and she made some new friends.

When we got home, she heard her new friends and just waited by the door for them.

Sunday nights are made for pizza.

We watched Shrek to end the weekend.

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Saturday was absolutely gorgeous weather wise but Sunday was a little cold. Luckily it was still sunny though so we could go outside for a walk. Before the week really kicks off, I want to share my Sunday in pictures. Have a great day šŸ™‚

Sunday started off with some strawberries and Bailey cuddles.

For breakfast we had waffles. I last minute decided I wanted one blueberry waffle and spread some in the maker but they all kind of clumped together, oh well.

I ran some errands and bought a basil plant. Fingers crossed it doesn’t die on me!

Let’s pretend the peppers are actually carrots šŸ˜‰

For lunch, I had another lettuce wrap with ham, cheese, mustard and a little salami. Plus carrots and pretzels with hummus.

After lunch, I made some decaf tea to sip on. The mug was part of Alex’s Valentine’s Day present and I thought it was pretty cute and funny.

I made a batch of my oatmeal energy bites since I’ve had a raging sweet tooth lately so hopefully these will satisfy it.

Bailey Out For A Walk

A family walk to the park near us. We made the smallest loop possible since there were so many things for Bailey to sniff and get distracted by but she made it.

I made a batch of roasted chickpeas and loosely followed Julie’s recipe. I realized that I didn’t have lime juice and substituted paprika for cumin since I was out.

For dinner we had steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. It was delicious!

After dinner, we watched A Dog’s Purpose. The dog’s name was Bailey and I cried.

Sunday In Pictures Vol. 28

Hello friends! How was your weekend? I have to say I had a pretty good one. Alex and I did some spring cleaning on Saturday and then had a fun day yesterday. All in all I won’t complain. The weather looks like it’s going to stay in normal spring temperature ranges this week so I’m pretty excited about that. In typical Monday fashion, I’m sharing our Sunday through pictures. Have a great day šŸ™‚

We didn’t feel like cooking so Alex made bacon and I grabbed bagels from a local shop. I had a jalepeno bagel and the flavor was only their when I had bits of jalepeno in the bite. Not bad but I kind of expected better.

I went and got a much needed manicure in the morning. The gel color is Sailing & Nail-ing by O.P.I. which doesn’t seem to be available anymore but this one looks pretty similar!

A family date to the park. Bailey loved playing frisbee and you can see a video on my Instagram.

On the way home from the park we grabbed lunch. The place actually messed up my order but quickly delivered a correct wrap which was good.

Bailey got her first bath and she wasn’t a huge fan of it. Shortly after I took this picture she tried to jump out of the tub. Bath time is definitely a two man job for us.

Alex and I sat outside to look into some potential vacation spots.

The weekend ended on a fun note by walking to the bar near us for cocktails.

I tried making Alfredo sauce last night and for a first time it was good and won’t need too many changes. We paired the pasta with some breadsticks.

I read a little more of The Fountainhead. I’ll be honest, this book is taking me forever but I’m already 300+ pages in so I’m determined to (eventually) finish it.
