Sunday In Pictures Vol. 31

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. If you’re a mother, I hope you got spoiled by your children. Even though it was a grey and rainy weekend, we made the most of it by spring cleaning on Saturday and some time outside yesterday. This week it looks like it might rain most of it but I’m actually okay with it. The rain is washing away all the pollen that’s been killing me – I didn’t even take an allergy pill yesterday! We’ll ignore the fact that I woke up at 1:13 am in order to take on though… Hopefully the sun will shine for you this week. Have a great day 🙂

Strawberries

Alex slept much later than Bailey and I so while we played, I  snacked on some strawberries.

Blueberry Waffle

For breakfast, we had waffles and bacon (not pictured).

Piping

I finally worked on my piping skills with the set Alex gave me for Valentine’s Day. Spoil alert – it was AMAZING. I kept commenting on how amazing and awesome it was lol.

Called my mom to chat a bit and to wish her a happy Mother’s Day. This was from exactly a year ago today at my graduation from Rutgers. Time flies you guys…

I made a tortilla pizza and paired it with a big salad for lunch.

We attempted some obedience training outside… It’s a work in progress but she’s got it in the apartment.

I made a key lime pie (from a mix )with whipped cream for dessert. The piping needs a little work but not too bad for a second try!

We went to Alex’s parents house for dinner. Steak, roasted potatoes and some asparagus for dinner before dessert and his mom opened gifts.

Question of the day: What’s one highlight from your weekend?

  1. That sounds like a good Sunday to me! Yesterday was a year since my college graduation, too. Also, awesome piping skills!

A highlight from my weekend was spending a few hours on Saturday “duck hunting.” Lol it sounds weird, but when John asked me to marry him a year ago, he did so while we were feeding ducks at my school’s pond. We thought we’d continue the tradition by feeding ducks again but unfortunately all we found were geese. It was still fun, though!

    1. Thank you! I was glad with how it turned out for a first try but now I’m ready to try again and do even better. Practice makes perfect right?!

That’s not weird at all! I think it’s sweet you guys want to try and keep it a tradition. I’m sorry you didn’t find ducks but at least you had fun!

  2. looks like a great day. We had rain on and off all weekend and it is in the forecast all week too. I’ve got the windows open now and just hope it isn’t pouring too much around 5:15 when the boys go to biking. Glad the rain is helping your allergies

    1. I want to try it from scratch one day! I just happened to have a mix that I bought in the Florida Keys when my family and I were there last year so I used that. Thanks Erinn! Hope your Monday is going well so far 🙂

  4. Are you wearing a plaid dress or skirt in the “piping” picture? The Key Lime Pie looks delicious; your piping skills are so rad! The highlight of my weekend was chilling like a villain with my boyfriend. We caught up on our sleep debts and enjoyed some marvelous Margaritas! I hope you have a fabulous, Allergy-Free Week!

    1. It’s an apron actually! Alex picked it out as part of my Valentine’s Day present. I used to throw on old sweats lol so he thought I’d appreciate it. Thank you! I feel like I still need to work on my piping skills but thought it was good considering it was only my second time ever. That’s awesome!! We made margaritas on Saturday night too hehe. Enjoy your Monday 🙂
